In this talk, Phnam Bagley will debunk the myths, help you avoid pitfalls and reap the benefits of good hardware design. She will share how to ensure smooth transitions between idea, concept, product development and mass manufacturing.
Phnam is a French Industrial Designer, Creative Director and co-founder at Nonfiction, a design firm based in San Francisco. She has spent 15 years designing cutting-edge hardware in Audio, Wearables, Neurotech/Biotech, Luxury & Fashion, Packaging, Sports and Aerospace. She has designed and led teams at varied design consultancies including IDEO, Lunar/McKinsey, Matter/Fjord and Lifestyledesign.

Phnam’s work spans four continents, and companies ranging from Fortune 500’s to startups. Clients include Intel, Comcast, Facebook, Atari, Halo Neuroscience and more.

She speaks internationally on the subject of “Design for a Better Future”, covering stories of groundbreaking technologies, science, design and education. She is the co-host of Future Future, a video series about design and the future of everything. Phnam also teaches industrial design at California College of the Arts and mentors at Founder Institute.

Hardware is hard…so we gathered experts from the field to speak directly to hardware entrepreneurs about bringing a product to market, from breadboard to manufacturing. These seasoned guest speakers deliver valuable content designed to help startups and entrepreneurs thrive. Lectures are typically 30-40 mins, followed by open Q&A.
